Resumen: En enero de 2019 se inauguró en Madrid, España, el proyecto “Connected Worlds: The Caribbean, Origin of the Modern World” (ConnecCaribbean), proyecto de investigación, divulgación y formación financiado en el marco del “European Union ’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 823846”. En el proyecto colaboran 101 profesores/as e investigadores/as de 15 instituciones académicas y editoriales en diez países de Europa, el Caribe y América Latina. Este texto presenta los antecedentes, los ejes de investigación y otras actividades, así como los primeros resultados de ConnecCaribbean.

Abstract: The formal inauguration of the project “Connected Worlds: The Caribbean, Origin of the Modern World” (ConnecCaribbean) took place in Madrid, Spain, in January of 2019. The project’s objectives include research, the publication of findings, and academic training in the field, all within the framework of the “European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 823846”. This project entails collaboration among 101 professors and researchers from 15 academic and publishing institutions in ten European, Caribbean and Latin American countries. The following text introduces the premises, the central concepts and related activities as well as the initial work and findings of ConnecCaribbean.
