Resumen: El presente dossier explora cómo la literatura latinoamericana ha representado la violencia desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Los cinco artículos que lo conforman analizan cómo diversas obras literarias abordan la problemática de la representación de la violencia desde una perspectiva crítica y ética, evitando enfoques simplistas o redentores. Además, el dossier incluye una sección titulada “Avance de investigación”, que presenta un estudio sobre la desclasificación de documentos de la dictadura argentina; un texto reflexivo sobre la traducción de la violencia en la sección “Debate”; y en la sección “Reseñas” se analiza una investigación reciente sobre la locura y el trauma en la ficción centroamericana contemporánea. El objetivo de este número es ofrecer diversas aproximaciones teóricas y críticas a la representación de la violencia en la literatura latinoamericana, destacando la riqueza epistémica y el valor político de esta multiplicidad de perspectivas.

Abstract: The dossier explores how Latin American literature has represented violence since the second half of the 20th century. The five articles that comprise it analyze how various literary works address the issue of representing violence from a critical and ethical perspective, avoiding simplistic or redemptive approaches. Furthermore, the dossier includes a section titled “Avance de investigación,” featuring a study on the declassification of documents from the Argentine dictatorship; a reflective text on the translation of violence in the “Debate” section; and in the “Reseñas” section, a recent investigation is analyzed, focusing on madness and trauma in contemporary Central American fiction. This issue aims to present diverse theoretical and critical approaches to the representation of violence in Latin American literature, highlighting the epistemic richness and political value of this multiplicity of perspectives.
